Exhibition: Classics. Barcelona’s Iconic Shops

Many of Barcelona’s iconic shops with their own distinctive hallmark and personality opened more than a century ago, but they continue to thrive all these years later. Their unique charm has meant they have moved with the times and made them living examples of our city’s retail history.

These are the oldest Barcelona shops, little gems that have been preserved thanks to the painstaking care of their owners.

The exhibition Classics. Barcelona’s Iconic Shops, opened on 12th January at the Sala Teresa Pàmies in the Centre Cívic Urgell. It will run until 9th February and aims to highlight the role these shops have played as city icons and to bring them to the attention of locals and visitors alike.

The exhibition is sponsored by the Regidoria de Comerç i Mercats, and was devised by the photographer Esteve Vilarrúbies. At the Barcelona Shopping City-Shopping Line we recommend you pay a visit and delve into the city’s history
